Born in the Dominican Republic, Jeanette Limas began her fashion education in Santo Domingo, studying pattern making at the Mercy Jacquez Institute and then fashion design at the prestigious Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design. Jeanette’s graduate collection received the Young Designer of the Year Award, which allowed her to present her designs at Dominican Republic Fashion Week. She also won half a scholarship to Parsons School of Design and moved to New York City. In addition to her class at Parsons, she further refined her technique by studying drapery at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Jeanette gained valuable experience in New York working on the design teams of Urban Zen by Donna Karan and couturier Jolibe Atelier. In 2019, she launched her namesake brand and has presented multiple successful collections at New York Fashion Week. Relocation to the Philadelphia area has given her space to expand her studio and focus her creative energy on her designs and business.
In 2022, Jeanette earned a coveted place on the Amazon Prime show Making the Cut hosted by fashion icons Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn. She emerged as a top finalist, winning two assignments that paved the way for well-received capsule collections featured on Amazon Fashion. After an amazing experience as a Designer-in-Residence at the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator at Macy’s, she is now pleased to present her Spring 2025 collection, Alma Rosa.
